Mediation

Mediation in Florida is a voluntary, non-adversarial, dispute resolution option available to parties in disputes that require a legal resolution. The alternative dispute resolution process is a structured process that enables clients to reach a self determined and reasonable agreement by a trained neutral third party, a mediator.

In Mediation, Mr. Midyette, a Supreme Court Certified Civil Mediator serves as a neutral facilitator to help you and your parties discuss needs and wants. The goal is to reach a mutually acceptable agreement without expending substantial sums to prepare and go to a trial to resolve the issues.

Mediation is usually less expensive than litigation in Florida courts. It is preferred by judges, more satisfactory to the parties and fosters higher compliance. It has not been established as a replacement in most court proceedings.

The ultimate purpose of the mediation is to final resolve the disputes related to a controversy. Mediation in Florida is not the same as more settlement negotiations, but it is a formal process with good faith expected for all parties to insure a potentially good outcome.
